3 Healthcare Jobs That Pay Over $200,000

1. Oncologist

But their role goes beyond patient care. Many oncologists also research cancer to develop new treatments and, ultimately, cures. Their mission? To turn that 41% into 0%.

2. Emergency Medicine Physician 

From life-threatening injuries to surprise baby deliveries, no two days in the emergency room are the same—and it’s emergency medicine physicians who provide the immediate medical care for whatever comes through the doors. 

To handle the variety of conditions they’ll see in the emergency room, emergency medicine physicians undergo three to four years of residency training. While the job pays great, residency doesn’t always: One second-year resident we interviewed earns $66,000 a year.  

3. Anesthesiologist 

Anesthesiologists 🤝 Sound surgical slumber. These specialists ensure patients are safely asleep during medical procedures and manage pain before, during, and after. 

Their expertise spans beyond the operating room—they also work in labor and delivery units, intensive care units, and pain management clinics.

With a median salary of over $200,000, anesthesiology offers serious earning potential. In fact, we met a cardiac anesthesiologist who earns up to $700,000 a year all while being an active, present father to his four kids.
